The implants are inserted through four small incisions - two incisions are hidden in the grooves of the nostrils and the other incisions are in the creases themselves. The implant stretches the crease reducing its appearance. Although these implants are usually done in younger individuals who wish to avoid the added healing time of face lift surgery, they can be done with a face-lift to further reduce the depth of the melolabial folds.
